Championing creative work that springs from the margins. For more than 20 years, Grid Books and its imprint Off the Grid Press has foregrounded creative work that springs from the margins. We are proud of our focus on projects generated through intergenerational exchange, such as those encompassing oral history and collaboration among students and their teachers.
Expanding access to our publishing program. We continue to look for new ways to expand access to literature and the arts through our publishing program. Through the annual Off the Grid Prize, we recognize and celebrate the work of older poets, and in doing so, bring to audiences important contemporary voices in poetry too often overlooked by mainstream publishers. In addition to the quality print editions upon which our reputation is established, we also produce audiobooks, helping us reaching younger audiences more likely to engage with mobile media and individuals who read by listening.
Promoting and preserving the work we publish. 2025 will mark our fifth year producing audiobooks for all of the poetry we publish. It has been a thrill to sit down with our poets, and to capture their voices reading the work we so admire. Our audio program brings poetry to new audiences, engages those who read by listening, and and preserves this work for appreciators of poetry into the future.
Through all of these efforts, we continue to foster and develop meaningful relationships with our authors and artists, and to encourage collaboration at every stage of the publishing process.
